Khapli wheat, also known as emmer wheat, is a diabetes-friendly grain that does not cause a rapid spike in blood sugar when eaten in the right way. Its low glycemic index, high fiber, and better protein content help slow digestion and release glucose gradually into the bloodstream. Compared to regular wheat, Khapli wheat is less processed, easier to digest, and more suitable for people with type 2 diabetes. When combined with vegetables and protein-rich foods and consumed in proper portions, it supports stable blood sugar levels, better satiety, and overall metabolic health. However, since it contains gluten, it is not suitable for people with gluten intolerance or celiac disease.
